Instant Led Zeppelin Collection
For somebody wanting an instant Led Zeppelin collection, Mothership is the perfect choice. The songs on this CD encompass the best of the group from 1968 to 1980 with excellent sound quality. At this point in my life I seem to be undertaking a review of the great Rock music of my youth and early adulthood. I never warmed up to Led Zeppelin during their prime, but have come to look forward to them appearing on the radio. From this CD I can hear how talented and unique they were, see the development of their music, and also become aware of how Led Zeppelin continues to play in our cultural background. What better purpose can a greatest hits compilation serve?
Worth 10x More!
One after another, each song on this album carries its unique musical qualities. I'm actually having trouble finding to words to tell you how awesome it is to have all these amazing songs on one album. It truly is the "Mothership" of all albums, in this genre at least. Give it a listen!
Getting the Led Out
Say what you will about the number of Zeppelin greatest hits collections and box sets - yes, most of the tracks here have been included in other collections, but the remastering and the inclusion of "In The Evening" in this collection is reason enough to add this to your CD rack. Perhaps the most noticable thing about this release is that there seems to be equal excitement and support from Page, Plant and Jones - it appears that the latter two have finally embraced their humbling legacy.
